MICHAEL LECHNER VON LEHENECK - THE ARTIST

Michael von Leheneck’s work is about beauty and passion; fragility and power at its fatal and endure crash. His works include paintings and photos and painted photos relate the women as the objects of the desires on the multilayered canvases. Michael von Leheneck has been composing a maddening encyclopedia of induced needs, where the inorganic may have more sex appeal than the human body.
After solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles and in Paris Fu Xin Gallery in Shanghai has been the first Chinese gallery to dedicate a solo exhibition to Michael von Leheneck as an artist in China. Arguably Michael von Leheneck's works are the best incarnates of our times with their mixture of 'vulgarity' and elegance, the overproduced commodities and the delusions of grandeur. If we consider Jeff Koons as a self made of the 'Prince' of the “celebration" of "Made in America", Michael von Leheneck should be regarded as the King of the “popular culture" which is truly made in China in its peak of modernity. Not surprising - some of Hollywood’s most famous and known art dealers and collectors already are among the passionate community of buyers of Michael von Leheneck's works after his two successful shows in New York.
Michael von Leheneck was born as Michael Baron Lechner von Leheneck from an Austrian-Tyrolian family with roots in Italy and Montenegro in Salzburg. He studied Law, Mass Communication and Political Sciences in Salzburg and later Law at Harvard University in the USA. As a child Michael attended the Summer Academy of Oskar Kokoschka in Salzburg, in Austria and he has been living long in Vienna, Geneva and later in New York followed by LA (Hollywood) to then settle in Shanghai where has been his base since 2007.

In his business adventures, he is a myth and a legend. In the early 90-ties he founded Eurobooks group a publishing and media company publishing books, magazines and newspapers and producing music, among others with world known artists such as Tina Turner and Bob Marley. He turned his company in one of Europe’s leading media groups before selling it in 2001. Now Michael von Leheneck is into Film and Television investments and owns film studios in China and Hollywood (LA).
Beyond those Michael von Leheneck's impressive aristocratic family background, sophisticated education and successful business venture, he finally announces his true passion for the “inner desire" - a true artist and truly himself. Michael von Leheneck's paintings and photos are in a totally new and individualistic style of expressing his vision of the modern people and contemporary world, specially focusing his experiences in Shanghai where the most exciting city in the world is now.

MICHAEL von LEHENECK
Michael von Leheneck's work is about beauty and passion; fragility and power at its fatal and endure crash. His works include paintings and photos and painted photos relate the women as the objects of the desires on the multilayered canvases. Michael von Leheneck has been composing a maddening encylopedia of induced needs, where the inorganic may have more sex appeal than the human body.

In his business adventures (Michael von Leheneck is Founder and President of Chinawood Film Group, Chinawood Film Studios and CW Capital LLC) he is a myth and a legend. Beyong those Michael von Leheneck's impressive aristocratic family background, sophisticated education and successful business adventures, he finally announces his true passion for the "inner desire" - a true artist and truly himself.
The uniqueness and also quintessence of Michael von Leheneck's works are naked facing the truth. They are completely betrayed his "blue blood" background and have the strength to break the rules and create an icon of the contemporary world.

For Picasso, rules are the ropes you break; deviation in the icon tradition is rare. An icon is a bit of wood with a recognizable depiction of a divine being on it as following the gravity of the art tradition. Michael von Leheneck's works are definitely creating the history and style in the Contemporary art world. He is the artist of the future and for tomorrow.
